Local tip
When visiting Gjógv, make time to sit at the edge of the village’s famous sea-filled gorge and just listen. Locals say it’s one of the best spots to hear the raw sound of the Atlantic—wind, waves, and seabirds all at once. If you're lucky, you might catch sight of a seal popping up near the natural harbour. And don’t leave without trying a warm bowl of ræst kjøt (fermented lamb) at the cosy guesthouse if it’s on the menu—it’s a truly Faroese experience.
