This tour includes unforgettable, exclusive overnight stays and visits to some of the most magnificent winter destinations in Finland. It begins in Helsinki, a vibrant and modern capital at the crossroads of east and west. From Helsinki, travellers journey north to Rovaniemi, the Arctic city in the heart of Lapland and the official home of Santa Claus. The tour includes a three-night stay at the wilderness resort, Vaattunki.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Helsinki
Arrival in Helsinki and independent transfer to the city centre. The airport bus is a recommended option.
Day 2: Helsinki
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day at leisure in Helsinki. A selection of tours and excursions is available to enhance the day, or explore the city independently, discovering its rich art, design, and winter charm.
Day 3: Helsinki - Rovaniemi
A day at leisure in Helsinki before an overnight journey to Rovaniemi. Accommodation in a private sleeping compartment on board the train.
Day 4: Rovaniemi
Arrival in Rovaniemi and transfer to Vaattunki Wilderness Resort, a hidden gem surrounded by nature. Three nights will be spent in a panorama design hut, offering an immersive Arctic experience. Optional activities, including reindeer safaris, husky sledding, and snowmobile adventures, can be pre-booked. Accommodation and dinner at Vaattunki.
Day 5: Polar Explorer, Icebreaker Excursion
A transfer from Rovaniemi to Axelsvik port in Båtskärsnäs for a three-hour cruise aboard the impressive icebreaker, navigating the frozen waters of the Bothnian Sea. Return transfers to Rovaniemi and Vaattunki are included.
Day 6: Santa Claus Village
A visit to the renowned Santa Claus Village, with the opportunity to meet Santa and send a postcard from Santa’s official post office. Shuttle service to and from the resort is arranged.
Day 7: Departure
Transfer to the airport and departure according to individual travel plans.

In the area surrounding Vaattunki Wilderness Resort, locals take advantage of the well-maintained cross-country ski tracks. Trying cross-country skiing is highly recommended.
